An Introduction to the Neethling Brain Profile
Ever since Roger Sperry’s split brain research discovered that the different hemispheres of the brain are responsible for different functionality, human beings have been fascinated with left and right brain functionality.
The Neethling Brain Instruments (NBI®) is a first of its kind suit of brain-science based assessments that strive to develop whole-brain thinking in individuals.
The NBI® was developed after almost 30 years of extensive international research on left and right-brain functions. The instruments were developed by Dr. Kobus Neethling, under the research guidance of Professor Paul Torrance of the University of Georgia.
The NBI® extends more than a century of research into the 4-quadrant brain into an 8-dimensional model that gives individuals insight into their personal thinking styles and preferences.
Understanding your Thinking Style
Your personal NBI® profile indicates how you prefer to think. It therefore gives you an indication of how you communicate, do business, act towards other people; teach or train; learn; solve problems and make decisions.
Understanding your thinking preferences, as well as the thinking preferences of others, can have profound implications for personal effectiveness in a number of areas, including, interpersonal communication; leadership; managing team dynamics; presenting; creativity; job and career profiling and self enrichment.
The Neethling Brain Instrument ®, provides an assessment of your individual thinking style and preference. Understand how your thinking style supports the different aspects of strategy and use this insight to develop your skills as a “whole-brain” thinker.
Thinking and Creativity
Creativity is the ability to look at the world with fresh eyes.
Whilst we all have the ability to be creative, your thinking preference may, however, influence the area and the manner in which you choose to apply your creativity.
Thinking & Team Dynamics
Enhance your teams’ dynamics by building self-awareness and allowing the team to become more accommodating of thinking style differences.
Team profiles can also be used by managers to create ideal candidate profiles in support of recruitment and team cohesion.
